Brian,

Thanks for posting the above. I really liked the Ketron sounds. The Korg was too 'busy' for me.

Hi Hugh,

The Korg styles do tend to be busy, I usually go in and drop the volume of all the voices and then bring up the drums and bass first and then work through all the variations of the style to see which I want to hear and what has to be at the forefront of the auto accompaniment and take if from there.

Don't know what Ketron is like for Forums and support but if you're new to arrangers maybe not the best choice.

Brian,

New to arrangers? I don't even know what an 'arranger' is! What is the difference between an arranger and a keyboard? Is the Tyros an 'arranger', or a keyboard? And what about the Genos?

Hi Hugh,

I think Keyboard is really a generic term for anything with piano style keys.

Arranger Keyboards have built in auto accompaniment i.e Styles and yes the Tyros is an Arranger Keyboard

Workstation Keyboards , tend to have the all the voices an arranger does, but without the style or full auto accompaniment
some may have what they call Phrases , which are stripped down styles

and Midi Keyboards just have keys and send out midi data to a computer, sound module etc....
