See this performance on an old Yamaha Organ.

The guy really gets into his performance after a while.

Amazing old organ and brilliant playing.....

Watch it in full screen mode and pump up the volume.....

Enjoy

Wotcha John,

He's certainly enjoying himself on that monster EX-42, it's a shame they looked way better than they sounded

Back in 1979 Vince and I had one of those Yamaha monstrosities, it was the EX-2, more or less the same as the 42 featured in the video (but without the synth and portamento strip) in one of our shops, we took it in PX against a Rodgers Trio 321 theatre organ ... the guy couldn't get rid of it quick enough ... sadly, we couldn't get rid of it at all - became a 10,000 quid music stand stuck in the corner of the shop ... it looked the dogs b******s ... unfortunately, it sounded a load of b******s

I enjoyed watching your man performing 'the good bad & me'

Is £10,000 the correct price Mike? :o

Considering it's age, I thought the sounds were not that bad...

I just love the performance of this song.

It was lively and he certainly enjoyed it..

Hiya John,

Back in 1977 when the EX-2 was first released in the UK it had a retail price of around £13,000 ($25k+ in the states) ... the Electone EX-42 being played in your video clip is circa 1970 and was over $31k ex Yamaha.

There were a few other models that were remarkably expensive back then, notably the Electone GX-1 from around 1975 - that sounded extraordinary back then, the whizz-kid of time on that instrument was George Fluery, both Vince and myself were left completely gob-smacked after watching and listening to him playing a Yamaha modified GX-1 @ the 1979 MusikMesse in Frankfurt - that monster sold for around $62,000
