He's got some equipment there! And of course to do something like that you would have to have everything you wanted to create 'in your head' and 'play by ear'. Not a project for 'music readers'!

The gentleman that did that claims he did it all by ear ? pretty impressive I would say, even just re-creating all the individual tracks would be a big tasks for one person
I would find it hard to pick out the individual tracks in that piece without the aid of some software, but either way an impressive piece to listen to.
