Television Adverts and Classical Music

I gave up smoking many years ago but one advert on TV sticks in my mind. It is the Andante Cantabile Theme from Tchaikowsky's 5th. Symphony. Today, I found it on youtube. I typed in " Paul Hogan Winfield Anyhow" I would like to put the link onto my Box account, and post it here, but couldn't do it. Maybe Youtube won't allow you to copy and paste. Also, I'm wondering if someone could tell me the name of that glorious piece of music BOAC used to promote their airline . I think it was British Airways Corporation's advertisement.

Hi!
I share your liking of Andante Cantabile. I posted my version on 3rd March, 2019. Scroll down from here.

JT,

You can't take the music track off a YouTube video (legally). But if you want to post it in here, why don't you just post the YouTube video 'as is'? You COPY the LINK from the word SHARE showing underneath a YouTube video and post that into the Forum. To make it an Embedded Video you remove the https://youtu.be/ and put the letters & numbers after it in between the youtube BBCodes .. which you get into your post by clicking on the word youtube above the posting box.

This is the advert you are talking about (an Australian advert, which is probably why you remember it).

Comments from underneath:
Ah, memories! We recorded the music (from Tchaikovsy's 5th Symphony) at EMI studios in Castlereagh Street, and the video was done in the AMP pavilion at the old Sydney Showground in Moore Park. A big production for a 40 cent packet of coffin nails! Oh, and 'Boris' was a violinist named Geza Bachman who also played on the sound recording.

and:
Hoges had the best Australian accent for tv and commercials now they make ads with classy upscale sounding voice overs and what not that type of accent and slang has really disappeared you don't hear it as much anymore.

This is the piece played by an orchestra (without the cigarette advert):

TCHAIKOVSKY Symphony No.5 (Andante cantabile) VALERY GERGIEV (Conductor)

I asked QANTAS if I could have their ad that they did "I Still Call Australia Home". They sent me a VHS tape with all the versions. Played that until you could almost see through the tape.
