A Christmassy type of Song ?

Postby Brian007 » 13 Nov 2021 14:33

Hi ALL,

Sitting here, thinking in between wondering what I should spend my winter fuel allowance on and should I take the dog for a another walk ? I wondered just how hard it can be to create a Christmassy sounding song ?
Given the right voices can it be that hard ? So here is the result and I am sure there must be bits in it that sound just like many other Christmas songs ? so if you can pick the bits out that do ? please put them in any comments that you may care to make.

Hi Brian. Certainly a Christmas tune, using bits and pieces from others. Kept me interested. Liked the sounds. John

Brian,

You have got that Christmas flavour pretty well spot on! Christmas bells for the melody! I like your chord structures too, with those minor chords thrown in, and not just playing C, F and G. It would be interesting to know if a YouTube algorithm would pick anything up and claim it was Copyright material?

Hi Hugh,

Thanks a lot for listening and commenting and showing an interest, Just goes to show how important using the right voice for a tune can be as it certainly seems so in this case.

The chord sequence for the Chorus was created first along with the melody line, then I hit a brick wall on what to use for the verses ? so decided to use a bit of plagiarism and found the chords for John Lennon's So this is Christmas and used them and rearranged the melody line ?
