2022

Postby Brian007 » 04 Jan 2022 15:02

Hi All,

Well here we are 2022 and another year older ? decided to get more creative this year if possible and stop using any auto accompaniment software or styles and just create my own stuff ? so here is the first result.

Decide to keep it as simple as possible to start off with so this short piece is based around just 3 chords D - Bm - A and uses only 4 tracks, 2 of these track are just 4 bar loops repeated the entire duration of the song which is only 1.49 mins
these 2 looped tracks are the Plucked Guitar and the Bass. The melody is a flutey type of voice and to add a bit more interest I added an octave Brass Contra melody track. Hope you enjoy what can be created with not a lot.
All voices are Vsts and no live instruments were harmed making this.

Brian,

You have made this 'own composition' really interesting by basing it on chords (D, Bm and A) rather than a melody .. and then trying to put chords to it. I'm sure this is the best way to create a composition of your own.

Hi Hugh,

Thanks lot for having a listen and commenting, To be honest using chords as a basis for the tune is really old school and the easiest way to do it as you more or less have the Bass and melody line notes decided for you by the chords. This approach for me comes from using an arranger keyboard in the past as most of everything is decided by the chords. The more modern approach is to create a Riff or hock and go from there. 109 views in 2 days not bad going 8)

Hello Brian, Really liked the way you opened the piece, then built it up for the main part and a quiet easy ending. Really liked it, calming and easy listen. Glad we have you to make music like this. Thanks lots.

Hi Den,

Thanks a lot for listening and commenting and pleased that you enjoyed it, for me creating something like that helps keep my interest going or otherwise I think I would have packed it all in by now, as I have run out of tunes I want to play or have enough musical skills to play, so its a done deal for me.
