Hi ALL,

As I don't own an arranger keyboard any longer being able to quickly try chord progressions is a big miss, but found this on another keyboard site

Brian,

You did say that the best way of doing your own composition is to start with a CHORD PROGRESSION rather than a MELODY. The video above is doing just that.

Hi Brian. Interesting. When I became a member of the Musicmakers club. Joe Dyche who ran it said to me Learn the chords,Learn the chords repeatedly. He used to give me chords to learn each month. He said the melody would come better after I had Learned the chords. Perhaps I should have carried on in that vein. John

Hi Hugh,

Its a handy little online program for experimenting with chord progressions and yes I always start with a chord progression for anything I create
as it does give you a good Idea what notes to use for the bassline and a good Idea what the melody line could be

Hi John,

To me chords are just about everything, right through my musical career ( sounds impressive ) I have used chords for my music , be it in a band playing guitar or on an arranger keyboard for the auto accompaniment it all needs chords, so get stuck in young man
