Hi Hugh,

I don't know if you're aware, as of 1st July, 2021 Yamaha have made all Tyros and Genos expansion packs free. Simply go online, download the Yamaha Expansion Manager, and install. I've just obtained ones that would have cost me £350 last month .. all free.

Select the pack that you want (Eg. Best of Europe) and you see this:



... and at the bottom it says:

New Voices and Styles packs are being delivered as encrypted data. You must use Yamaha Expansion Manager (YEM) to create a pack install file to load this pack into your instrument.

I have a Tyros 4, which is not involved in all this. If you have one of the instruments mentioned and give it a go, can you do a Reply to this and let us know how you get on?

I have to say, Hugh is almost correct except for the minor detail at the start, I dont own TDP .. you, the Members do under the command of Captain Wallington and a great job he does too.

For you Genos Jockeys out there, ePianos has started doing a live stream on Tuesday afternoons with live hints, tips and demonstrations, they're a great company and Dave & Chris really know their stuff on these machines, well worth tuning in. The expansion packs are only for the YEM. Tyros 3 & 4 need UVT or UVN voices. The YEM packs need the expansion manager program on the computer to make the PPi files. Yamaha have dispensed with Tyros now. Sad!

The Expansion Packs were all made free about July 2020.
