How many of you like to go beyond just playing your arranger keyboards and organs?

In terms of changing effects, editing sounds etc?

I see where you are coming from. I am one of those who spend as much time setting up as I do playing. Its a challenge and occasionally can be very rewarding. Ken S.

James,

I find you can't use anything set up by Yamaha as a 'default'. They always get the balance wrong, so you have to tinker with things to get them to sound right. The Music Finder is a good example of things not sounding right when you want to play something .. although I will often use their choices as a base for what I want to play.

In regards to styles on my Tyros 4 if I find one for a particular sound I make a copy of it and put it in a folder which I rename to the name of a song and rename the style itself, In that folder I will also add anything used by that particular song, edited sounds registrations etc.

I will then set to work and remix the style, by turning all tracks to 63 which is half way between 0 and 127, but I will also mute all but one track usually the drum track.

Hi ALL,

As a someone who has had a few different arranger keyboards over a number of years you do have to dig deep into things to get something different as the manufactures pre-sets make everyone sound the same, so sound creation and style manipulation are certainly things that you do need to go deep into.
