Hi Hugh,

No I am not going to buy one, its a bit of an unknown quantity at the present, there are rumors that its made by the factory that produces keyboards for top brand keyboards, the same as when you buy a washer from John Lewis with John Lewis`s name of it but its a Zanusia or the likes ?

For me now its all about new voices and sounds and this is much easier to achieve using Vst`s and I am just happy making the most of what gear I have at the moment,

Hi. Ordered one. On its way. Look out for some postings. Only kidding. I think you only get what you pay for. It may be excellent will reserve judgment when I hear it played. John

Hi John,

I agree unknown quality as yet , doubt very much you will hear one in any local music stores , so unless someone you know buys one it wont happen, most people I know already have a good keyboard so its probably only newcomers to the Arranger fold who will consider it, on the face of it you get a lot for your money but time will tell.

Wonder about the "Touch Screen". One reason I gave up the SX900 was the silly little slots for the song registrations. If I wanted to change from one song to the next the slot on the top was too small for my fingers. Then again, touch something and then you have to use the big black wheel to operate it. The touch screen I had was more of a poke screen, not too responsive. This Medeli could be fine for the home player. Many people who buy an expensive Yamaha (ie a Tyros) rarely use more than 20% of its features.

Hi Den,

Touch screen can be a blessing or a pain, for me the touch screens are too small for a start with, registration can be changed by a foot pedal but thats just more kit you need to have , I think if the way the menu system had been revamped and made easier there was no real need for a touch screen.

Not keen on touch screens .. particularly when they are small. You have to be really accurate when touching the screen to make what you want to happen, happen. Changing stations on the radio in my car by touching the screen is a nightmare. Luckily I have a volume 'click' button on my steering wheel so the volume is controlled by clicking a button or turning a knob at the radio.

I don't have a 'touch screen' laptop; and use a mouse rather than the 'touchpad'. Those of you who have a tablet or an iPad will probably say doing things via the screen is a great way of getting about.

Having said all that, I have a mobile and do everything via the touch screen. It's great. And the screen is small! Give me a smartphone with a touch screen rather than those Nokia mobile phones we had in the early days, where everything was done by pressing buttons. Perhaps screens of mobile phones are more touch sensitive than a keyboard screen?

Hugh

Hello Hugh,
Perhaps screens of mobile phones are more touch sensitive than a keyboard screen?

Totally different type of screen. There are two types, Brian 007 may know more about that. I think the one on the SX900 was the 'poke screen' one, not very responsive. Others may know.

Hello Brian, According to the specs it has a 7" touch screen. In that video it looks like it may need a bit of "poking". No sliders, not sure about the buttons, plastic or rubber. Could be good for a second kbd. Would like to try one but our government is having a squabble with the Chinese! Not much chance of getting one here. The one in the video is from a music supplier in Netherlands.
Regards, Den.

Hi Den,

Dont think we will ever get to see or demo one in a music shop here in the UK as I dont think they have any dealerships over here, and even in Europe there does not seem to be any in stock at the dealers that are advertising them ,

Think I will stick to what I have and know
