When we had the hotel in Weston, we had a lady come and stay every year specifically to go to our Playhouse Theatre to hear 'The Searchers' when they were doing a concert. But "No", she said. "Not The Searchers. I've come to see Mike Pender's Searchers. They are the 'real' Searchers."

So what had gone on here then?

Hi Hugh,

Yes The Searchers did have a very unique sound due to the Rickenbacker 12 string guitars that two them used and the Bass was a 1950s repainted hofner club 60
Like a lot of bands back then if they split up one or two members would form another band and try and use there original name which often led to a lot of bother
