This is a 1930's hit which is very popular even today.

A song that I remember from since I was just a young lad.

Wikipedia says: "Georgia on My Mind" is a 1930 song written by Hoagy Carmichael and Stuart Gorrell and first recorded that same year by Hoagy Carmichael.
However, the song has been most often associated with soul singer Ray Charles, who was a native of the U.S. state of Georgia and recorded it for his 1960 album The Genius Hits the Road.

And Ray Charles' version is also a good listen.

Enjoy.

Hi John,

Certainly a nice easy to listen to piece with some really great sounding and very appropriate voices for the tune, the video was full of atmosphere and complemented the music.

All the best, Brian007

John,

That was glorious! Quite the best version of this song I have ever heard! The chords you play are perfect for this song, and the way you play is so relaxing to listen to.

You've obviously mastered the ins and outs of your video program, making still pictures 'move' across the screen .. and including moving video clips as well as 'stills'. And they are really fun to put together. Hunting for suitable clips to suit the mood of the music one is playing is very satisfying. I would recommend giving it a try to anyone!

You mention Ray Charles singing it.

Ray Charles - Georgia On My Mind (The Original Song From The Album "True Genius")

From the 'description' under the video:
Ray Charles was born in Georgia and moved to Florida as a child. At the age of 5 he began losing his sight gradually, and by age 7 is completely blind. In Florida he studied at the St. Augustine School for the Deaf and Blind, where he first learned to play the piano.
