Text on Tyros Screen

I have my text file on a USB stick but that matters none.

Load the Text file by pressing the Text/Lyrics button on the keyboard. This is the screen that will show. Press the Text File button under the screen (button 5 or 6).

This will take you to the next screen.

I then tab across to USB. You notice that User and HD1 are also shown.

I pressed the button next to Michael Row and it highlights that one.

Mysterypress the Exit button and the next screen will come up.

Yamaha forgot to tell you this – it is a BIG secret!

The blue arrow will take you through the pages if you have more than one.

That is how it is done. All done by magic and mirrors.
With complete disregard,

Den,

This is so useful to know! As I play 'by ear' (ie. by chords and play the melody 'by ear'), I frequently print out the lyrics with chords from the Guitar Guy.

http://www.theguitarguy.com/

I'll try just loading the words and chords into the Tyros 4 and play from the Tyros 4 screen. Get rid of all those bits of paper! Will I have to use NOTEPAD to create the .txt file? Presumably the Tyros will only read the file from the memory stick if it is .txt format.

No, just copy or create a .txt file
First thing is to create the .txt file. If you have copied the words and chords from the net then paste them into any writing program. Word, notepad, OTS (Open Office, LibreOffice) or any other, they will all save the file as .txt. You can then put it onto your keyboard anywhere as long as you know where to find it. Once you have the .txt ensure that it is closed up, ie line for line with little spacing between the lines.
