A question re: who can view these entries.

Postby Hugh-AR » 05 Feb 2022 15:57

Hi all,

This question is for all those who have made a contribution to this Challenge.

Have you any objection to me opening up this topic so that non-Members can listen to your entries as well as Members? Then instead of only a few people listening to what you have posted, the number of views you get will go up into the hundreds. With all the effort you have put in to post some music it seems to me that this would be a worth while thing to do.

Hi

It's fine by me. All my posts are open to public view on my You Tube channel anyway - along with others that I've not posted here.

Every Blessing

Great idea. Youtube is viewed by millions of people around the world, and "whilst some may fall on stony ground" one can never be sure what will resonate with someone, somewhere. Just today, I was delighted to be reminded of the wonderful poems of Omar Khayyam when Dennis referred to them on a post on this forum. and then, ten minutes later, on the PSR Tutorial Forum I read Joe Water's post recommending a youtube video called "Music For Life" It certainly struck a chord for me. I would like to put the link up on this forum but can't figure out how to do that. It is a Yamaha Video and I think that by typing "Yamaha Youtube Music for Life" into Google some kind member will be able to post it on this forum. J.T.

Hi JT,

My reference to allowing non-Members to view this Topic was just that .. allowing people who find our Forum to listen to all the music posted in this January 2022 Challenge. Nothing to do with YouTube.

As you have mentioned a YouTube video you found on the PSR Tutorial website and asked if someone could post it up in our Forum .. I have done that. Click this LINK to go there:

Do a right-click to open this up in a New Tab.

But it's not called Music For Life. There is a video up on YouTube called that, but it is "Rap".
From Wikipedia:
Rapping is a musical form of vocal delivery that incorporates "rhyme, rhythmic speech, and street vernacular", which is performed or chanted in a variety of ways, usually over a backing beat or musical accompaniment. The components of rap include "content" (what is being said), "flow" (rhythm, rhyme), and "delivery" (cadence, tone). Rap differs from spoken-word poetry in that it is usually performed off time to musical accompaniment. Rap being a primary ingredient of hip hop music, it is commonly associated with that genre in particular; however, the origins of rap predate hip-hop culture by many years.

Don't think you meant us to listen to that! Your video called Music Is Life | Yamaha Music. It has had over 10 million views.

Thanks, Joe for correcting my post on not one but TWO issues. I have got into the habit of skip reading and didn't read your post or Joe Water's post properly. You certainly were NOT referring to Youtube in your post about who can read these entries and Joe Waters recommended a Yamaha youtube video called "Music Is Life" NOT the one I mentioned in my post. I promise to read things properly in future . J.T.
